I don’t know about you, but worms and dirt was a favorite treat when I was a kid. I loved, and still love gummy worms! I love the chocolate combined with the Oreo crumbs. These cookies are a fun twist on the classic treat, and the kids love them! If you are looking for a fun birthday party treat, or a fun cookie to take to a party, or even a fun treat to make for your family, then look no further. My kids went wild over these cookies! The chocolate cookie is soft and fudgy with a fudgy and delicious chocolate buttercream frosting on top. They are topped with Oreo crumbs and gummy worms. These cookies are simple to make and don’t require any kind of refrigeration. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

Chocolate Cookie

1 c. Salted Butter

1 c. Brown Sugar

¾ c. Sugar

2 Eggs

¾ c. Dark Cocoa

2 oz. Unsweetened Chocolate

2 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Salt

2 tsp. Vanilla

3 c. Flour

1 c. Oreo Crumbs

Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes

Chocolate Frosting

½ c. Salted Butter

2 tsp. Vanilla

½ c. Cocoa

4-5 Tbl. Milk

4 c. Powdered Sugar

24 Gummy Worms

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl cream the Butter, Sugar, and the Brown Sugar.

3. Add the Eggs and Cream them well.

4. Melt the Unsweetened Baking Chocolate. Add the melted Chocolate, Cocoa, Baking Powder, Salt, and the Vanilla. Mix them in well.

5. Add the Flour and mix well.

6. Crush the Oreos. I like to do this in a Food Processor. But you can also place them in a Ziplock bag and crust them with a rolling pin. Click here for the Food Processor that I use and love!

7. Grease a baking sheet. Roll the dough into 1 ½ inch balls of dough. Roll them in the Oreo crumbs. Then place them on the baking sheet. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes. Leave them on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then move them to a cooling rack. Let them cool completely.

8. Make the frosting. In a medium-sized mixing bowl add the Butter, Vanilla, Cocoa, Milk, and the Powdered Sugar. Mix it until it is smooth and creamy.

9. Frost the cookies and place a Gummy Worm on top. Sprinkle with the remaining Oreo crumbs.

10. Seve and enjoy!
