This is a delicious recipe that my family loves! I love to make this recipe for a weekend because it is simple to make and I can make it the night before and then just wake up and put it in the oven to bake. It is a savory breakfast casserole, which I love because I don’t always want something sweet in the morning. This casserole has tons of protein in it, so I usually just add some fruit to our breakfast and we stay full all morning. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

12 oz. Sausage

6-8 slices White Bread

¼ c. Butter for buttering bread

4 c. Shredded Cheddar Cheese

4 oz. Diced Green Chiles

6 Eggs

2 c. Milk

½ tsp. Paprika

½ tsp. Pepper

¼ tsp. Dry Mustard

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Oregano

¼ tsp. Garlic Powder

Preparation:

1. Brown the Sausage and drain the grease. Set it aside.

2. Remove the crust from the bread. Butter each slice of bread and place it butter side down in a glass 9x13 baking dish. Make sure the bottom of the pan is covered in bread with no big gaps.

3. Sprinkle the Cheese over the bread.

4. Sprinkle the Sausage over the top of the Cheese. Sprinkle the Green Chiles over the Sausage.

5. In a medium-sized mixing bowl mix the Eggs, Milk, Paprika, Pepper, Dry Mustard, Salt, Oregano, and the Garlic Powder. Whisk together and pour over the top of the Sausage.

6. Refrigerate overnight.

7. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes.

8. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes.

9. Serve and enjoy!
