Instant Pot Split Pea Soup
This soup is seriously one of my family’s favorites! When I made it for the first time, I wasn’t sure how my family would like it because it doesn’t look like the most appealing soup. But once the kids tried it, they gobbled it down. This is one of the meals that they regularly ask me to make. I love to make it because it is so simple and takes hardly any time.
Preparation:
1. Dice the Onion, Carrots, and the Celery.
2. Turn the instant pot to the ‘Sauté’ setting and let it heat up. Add 2 Tbl. Olive Oil and add the Onions, Carrots, and the Celery. Sauté them for 4-5 minutes.
3. Add the Water, Chicken Bullion, Split Peas, Ham Bone, or Diced Ham and the Bay Leaves.
4. Cover the Instant Pot and set it to manual High Pressure for 15 minutes.
5. Allow the pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes, then do a quick release of the pressure.
6. If you used a ham bone, remove it and chop up the big chunks of ham into bite-sized pieces. Stir the ham into the soup.
7. Serve and enjoy!
