This is a recipe that I received from my grandma. It is a chocolate lover’s dream! This cake is a pound cake texture, but it is also moist and delicious! It has a rich, chocolatey flavor that is enhanced by the chocolate ganache topping. I added the ganache to the recipe because I like a good chocolate cake to be enhanced by another flavor of chocolate. This recipe is simple to make and will be a huge crowd pleaser! This cake will stay moist for days and won’t dry out…if it lasts that long. This is a great recipe to make for a holiday or whenever you are craving chocolate. You can make this for your family or for a potluck. It will always be a huge hit! I hope you love this recipe as much as I do!

Ingredients:

Chocolate Bundt Cake

1 c. Salted Butter

3 c. Sugar

6 Eggs

1 c. Sour Cream

¾ c. Cocoa

1 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Vanilla

2 ¼ c. Flour

Ganache

1 c. Heavy Whipping Cream

1 ½ c. Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl cream the Butter and the Sugar.

3. Add the Eggs 2 at a time and mix them well.

4. Add the Sour Cream, Cocoa, Baking Powder, Vanilla, and the Flour. Mix well.

5. Grease and flour a bundt cake pan. Then pour the batter in the pan and spread it out evenly.

6. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes before removing the cake from the pan. Turn the pan over onto a flat surface. Let it cool.

7. Make the Ganache. In a glass mixing bowl heat the Cream in the microwave until it is boiling. Then add the Chocolate Chips and stir them in until they are melted and smooth. Let it cool until it starts to thicken.

8. Drizzle the Ganache over the top of the cake.

9. Serve and enjoy!
