This is a simple and a delicious recipe that I received from my grandma. I love a good pound cake that is moist and has a rich, buttery taste. This recipe is exactly that. It only takes a few minutes to mix the batter and get it in the oven. It makes your house smell like a bakery! I love to have those delicious smells in my home. I like to add cream cheese icing to this cake recipe because it compliments it perfectly. My grandma dusted it with powdered sugar, but I like it better with the icing. You can do it either way. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

Bundt Cake

1 c. Salted Butter

1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese

1 ½ c. Sugar

4 Eggs

2 tsp. Baking Powder

2 tsp. Vanilla

1 ¾ c. Flour

Cream Cheese Icing

¼ c. Salted Butter

4 oz. Cream Cheese

2-3 Tbl. Milk

1 tsp. Vanilla

2 c. Powdered Sugar

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl cream the Butter, Cream Cheese, and the Sugar. Mix it for 5 minutes on high.

3. Add the Eggs one at a time, mixing it really well between each egg.

4. Add the Vanilla, Baking Powder, and the Flour. Mix it in well.

5. Grease and flour a bundt cake pan. This cake will stick if you don’t flour it…even if you have a non-stick pan. Pour the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly.

6. Bake the cake for 50-60 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake sit for 20 minutes in the pan before removing it. Turn the cake upside down on a dish. You may have to bang it a little to get it to come out. Cool completely.

7. In a medium-sized mixing bowl add the Butter, Cream Cheese, Milk, Vanilla, and the Powdered Sugar. Mix it until it is smooth and creamy. Pipe the icing over the cooled cake.

8. Serve and enjoy!

Alterations

  • You don't have to add Cream Cheese icing. You could sprinkle it with Powdered Sugar to make it more simple.
