
This recipe is a delicious twist on macaroni and cheese. This is a great meal that the whole family will love! I love recipes that are quick and easy! Cooking for a large family is not always easy with kids that are sometimes picky. I love those meals that everyone loves! This pasta bake is easy to put together on a busy night, or even ahead of time so that you can quickly bake it when you get home. It is creamy and has tons of flavor to it. You can make this with cheddar cheese as a substitute for gouda cheese, although the gouda cheese gives it so much flavor! I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!
Preparation:
1. Cook the Tortellini according to package directions, or use pre-cooked tortellini. If you cook it, drain it when it is finished cooking.
2. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
3. Cook the Sausage in a frying pan while the Tortellini is cooking. Drain the grease and set aside.
4. In a sauce pan, melt the Butter. Then whisk in the Flour and stir it until it is smooth. Let it cook for 2 minutes. Add the Milk, while stirring constantly. Cook it on a medium heat until it begins to thicken. It will usually thicken before it starts boiling. If you want to speed it up, you can cook it on a higher heat, but make sure that you are stirring it really well so that it doesn’t scorch on the bottom of the pan.
5. Add the Shredded Cheese and the Chicken Bullion. Stir it in until it is smooth and creamy.
6. Combine the Tortellini, Tomatoes, Sausage, and the Cheese Sauce. Stir together until it is mixed evenly. Then pour into a 9x13 glass baking dish. Top with Cheese.
7. Bake for 30 minutes on 350°F.
8. Serve and enjoy!
