This is one of my husband’s favorite desserts. When I made it for the first time, he ate almost the whole thing by himself. It really is that good, too. It is simple to make and is so moist! You could also think of these as a “blonde brownie”. This makes a big sheet cake. If you want to make something to share at a potluck this is a great recipe to make! If you can’t eat it that fast, they will freeze well.

Ingredients:

1 ½ c. Salted Butter

1 8oz. package Cream Cheese

3 1/3 c. Sugar

9 Eggs

1 tsp. Vanilla

3 1/3 c. Flour

Frosting

½ c. Salted Butter

6 Tbl. Milk

6 Tbl. Cocoa

¾ tsp. Vanilla

4 c. Powdered Sugar

Bake 325°F for 30-35 minutes

Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the Butter, Cream Cheese, and the Sugar. Mix them till they are smooth and creamed well.

3. Add the Eggs one at a time and mix them in thoroughly.

4. Add the Vanilla and the Flour and mix well.

5. Pour into a greased 10x15x1 baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool partially and then make the frosting.

6. In a saucepan, combine the Milk and Butter and cook it until the butter is melted.

7. Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in the cocoa until it is smooth. Add the Powdered Sugar and the Vanilla and whisk it until it is smooth and creamy. If it is a little lumpy then you can use an electric mixer to mix it well.

8. Pour the frosting over the cake while it is still warm. Let cool.

9. Serve and enjoy!
