Breadsticks
This is a delicious and simple breadstick recipe that tastes amazing! My family loves it when I make these for dinner. I make a big batch because they get eaten so fast. I love to pair these with Lasagna, Spaghetti, or soup. These are every bit as good as Olive Garden breadsticks. You can season them however you like them, and they stay fresh for a few days. Your family is going to love this recipe!
Preparation:
1. In a mixer (I use my Bosch mixer or my Kitchen Aid stand mixer with the dough hook), mix 2 c. Flour, Yeast, Sugar, Salt, Egg, and the Warm Milk. Let it mix on a low speed for 5 minutes.
2. Slowly add the remaining Flour. You want your dough to pull away from the edges of the mixing bowl as it is mixing. Let the dough mix for 10 minutes.
3. Remove the dough from the mixer and place it in a bowl that has been sprayed with Pam Spray. Cover the bowl with a dish cloth and place it in a warm place. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, or until it has doubled in size.
4. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
5. Melt the Butter and place it in a 9x13 glass baking dish, or a metal sheet pan.
6. Spread flour on a hard surface and roll the dough into an oval. The dough should be about ¼ inch thick.
7. Cut the dough into 1-1 ½ inch strips. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and twist it. Place it on the pan. Fold and twist the remaining strips and place them next to each other on the pan. (See the pictures for the example.)
8. Brush the top of the breadsticks with Melted Butter. Then sprinkle Garlic Salt, Parmesan Cheese, or whatever other topping you enjoy.
9. Let the breadsticks sit for 5-10 minutes.
10. Bake the breadsticks for 10-15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown on top. Remove them from the oven.
11. Serve and enjoy!
