Pecan Pie is a staple when you are living in the south. I grew up out west where it was something that I heard about once in a while, but never ate much of it. I always thought that it was one of those pies that tasted good, but was so sweet that I couldn’t finish a slice. When I moved to the south I tried it at a restaurant and fell in love with it! It was totally different than anything I had ever tried before. It had a delicious flavor and wasn’t near as sweet. I decided that I had to try to get the recipe. I have tried a few recipes and they were ok, but after a few attempts I finally got what I was looking for. This pie has a creamy filling and is topped with caramelized pecans. This recipe is incredibly simple to make and makes the house smell amazing! This will be on my Thanksgiving menu for years to come. My family loves it and always asks for more. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

1 9-inch Unbaked Pie Crust

¾ c. Brown Sugar

1 c. Corn Syrup

½ c. Dark Corn Syrup

4 Eggs

2 tsp. Vanilla

¼ c. Salted Butter

2 c. Pecans

Bake at 350°F for 55-60 minutes

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. Prepare an unbaked pie crust. You can find my recipe for homemade pie crust here, or you can use a pre-made one from the store.

3. In a medium-sized bowl combine the Brown Sugar, Corn Syrup, Dark Corn Syrup, Eggs, Vanilla, and the Butter. Mix it up until it is smooth and creamy.

4. Pour the Pecans into the bottom of the pie crust and spread them out evenly.

5. Pour the liquid over the top of the Pecans.

6. Bake for 55-60 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

7. Serve and enjoy!
