I have tried many different Sugar Cookies over the years and have been in search of the perfect cookie. I have come close several times, but I have never felt that it was “it”. I have finally found, in my opinion, the perfect sugar cookie. I know that there are many different opinions of what defines a perfect sugar cookie, but I like a soft cookie that has a rich buttery flavor. I don’t like a crunchy cookie that I have to chew, but one that melts in your mouth and pairs perfectly with cream cheese frosting. This, my friends, is my perfect sugar cookie. It is soft and moist. It melts in your mouth and stays soft for weeks. It rolls out perfectly and goes perfect with any icing. This cookie is great for any holiday cookie, whether it be Valentines Day, Christmas, Easter, or just because you like frosting cookies and decorating them. I hope you love this Sugar Cookie recipe as much as I do!

Ingredients:

Sugar Cookies

1 c. Salted Butter

2- 8 oz. packages Cream Cheese

2 c. Sugar

3 Eggs

1 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Vanilla

5-6 c. Flour

Bake at 350°F for 10-11 minutes

Cream Cheese Frosting

½ c. Salted Butter

1- 8 oz. package Cream Cheese

2 tsp. Vanilla

¼ c. Milk

3-4 c. Powdered Sugar

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a large mixing bowl cream the Butter, Cream Cheese, and the Sugar. Mix it really well.

3. Add the Eggs and mix it well.

4. Add the Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Salt, and the Vanilla. Mix well.

5. Add the Flour and mix well. The dough should be stiff and not sticky. You should be able to roll it out on a floured surface without it sticking.

6. Roll the Dough out on a floured surface. Use any shape of cookie cutter to make the cookies. Place them on a greased cookie sheet.

7. Bake the cookies for 10-11 minutes. The bottoms will be lightly golden brown, but the top should still be white. Remove from the oven and cool on a cooling rack.

8. Make the Cream Cheese Frosting by combining the Butter, Cream Cheese, Milk, Vanilla, and the Powdered Sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix it until it is smooth and creamy.

9. Frost the cookies and decorate them with sprinkles.

10. Serve and enjoy!
