Queso
Queso has become one of my new favorite foods! I tried it with my extended family for the first time last summer and fell in love with it. But I wanted to be able to make it myself rather than buy it from the store. This recipe is simple and so much cheaper than buying it. It is delicious and can be used for several days. Just re-heat it and serve it with your favorite foods. You can use it for Nachos, Tacos, Burritos, or just as a dip for tortilla chips.
Preparation:
1. Dice the Onion and the Jalapeño into small pieces. If you want to do it faster, then use a food processor. You don’t want them to be mushy, but it is better if they are chopped fine.
2. In a large saucepan or a frying pan, heat the Olive Oil. Add the Onions and the Jalapeños and sauté them until they are soft and translucent.
3. Pour in the Heavy Whipping Cream and stir it constantly until it is heated through. Turn the heat on medium-low.
4. Add the Cheese slowly, while continuing to stir the cream. When all of the cheese is stirred in, add the Cilantro and stir it in.
5. Serve immediately and enjoy!
