This cake is to die for! If you are a peanut butter and a chocolate lover, then you need to try this recipe. This is my grandma’s recipe with a few little adjustments. I wanted a lot more peanut butter on mine so that it was more balanced 😊 The cake itself is so moist and delicious, even after a few days. It doesn’t dry out. It is topped with gooey peanut butter and a yummy fudgy icing. You will need a glass of milk or a scoop of ice cream with this cake because it is rich! But it is so worth it. My family went wild over this recipe. It is simple to make and is a huge crowd pleaser! You can make this for family, friends, or for a potluck. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

Chocolate Cake

2 c. Flour

2 c. Sugar

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1 tsp. Salt

½ c. Cocoa

1 c. Salted Butter

1 c. Water

½ c. Buttermilk

2 Eggs

2 tsp. Vanilla

Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes

Topping

1 c. Peanut Butter

Fudge Frosting

½ c. Salted Butter

¼ c. Cocoa

6 Tbl. Milk

2 tsp. Vanilla

4 c. Powdered Sugar

Preparation:

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine the Flour, Sugar, Salt, and the Baking Soda. Stir together.

3. In a medium-sized saucepan add the Butter, Cocoa, Water, and the Buttermilk. Turn the heat onto medium-high. Stir constantly and cook until it boils.

4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the dry ingredients and mix it well.

5. Add the Eggs and the Vanilla. Mix well.

6. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 glass baking dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the oven. Let it cool for a few minutes.

7. Spread the Peanut Butter over the top of the warm cake. The cake will melt the peanut butter and make it easy to spread.

8. In a saucepan melt the Butter. Add the Milk and the Cocoa. Bring it to a boil. Add the Vanilla and the Powdered Sugar. Mix it well. Pour over the top of the cake and spread it out evenly.

9. Serve and enjoy!
