This meal is a staple breakfast in the south. It is hearty and filling, and so delicious! It is also simple to make. Many people go out to breakfast to order this meal, but you can make it at home and it tastes just as good for a fraction of the cost! You can also have it for left-overs if you make a big batch. Biscuits and gravy are a comfort food that your family will ask for again and again.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Sausage

3 c. Milk

3.5 Tbl. Cornstarch

3 Tbl. Cold Water

½ tsp. Pepper

1 tsp. Garlic Salt

Preparation:

1. Make your biscuit dough. You can find the Fluffy Buttermilk Biscuit recipe here.

2. In a frying pan, brown the Sausage and chop it into small pieces. You can make it as small, or as big as you prefer.

3. Drain the grease off the sausage. If you want a little more flavor, you can leave it, but I prefer to have my gravy a little healthier.

4. Make your Cornstarch mixture by stirring together the Cornstarch and the Cold Water. Let it sit until the milk is boiling.

5. Add the Milk to the Sausage and heat it up on a medium heat. Stir it constantly until it starts to boil.

6. Add the Cornstarch mixture slowly to the boiling milk and sausage. Stir it constantly so it doesn’t get lumpy. When it is thickened, remove the pan from the heat.

7. Add the Garlic Salt and the Pepper.

8. Serve the gravy over your freshly baked biscuit.

9. Enjoy!
