
I have always been a huge fan of Au Gratin Potatoes. I have had many different recipes, but this one is by far my favorite. I was always afraid to make them because I felt like they took forever to make. This recipe is simple, and there is sauce coating all the potatoes. Some of the other recipes I have had mostly had the cheese sauce on top, but not throughout the potatoes. I like to layer the potatoes with the cheese sauce so that it cooks evenly, and each potato is coated in the delicious cheese. I love to make this with a ham dinner, or with grilled chicken. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Peel and slice the Potatoes very thin.
3. In a saucepan, melt the Butter. Then add the Flour and stir it in until it is smooth and creamy. Cook it for 2 minutes while stirring constantly. Then add the Milk and stir it in. Cook it on a medium heat until it thickens. Then add the Chicken Bullion and 3 c. Shredded Cheese and stir them in.
4. Spread a layer of the sliced Potatoes in the bottom of a 9x13 glass baking dish. Spread a layer of cheese sauce over the potatoes. Then repeat making sure that the last layer is topped with the cheese sauce.
5. Place the remaining 2 c. Shredded Cheese on the top of the potatoes.
6. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour 15 minutes.
7. Serve and enjoy!
