Philly Cheesesteak
This is one of my husband’s all-time favorite meals! Whenever we go out to eat if there is Philly Cheesesteak on the menu, he will order it. I wanted to be able to make it for him at home so I decided to create my own recipe. Some people like peppers in their sandwiches, and I am one of them, but I didn’t add peppers to this recipe to make it more kid friendly. My kids devoured this meal when I made it for them the first time. It is delicious and surprisingly simple to make. It has perfect flavor. The tender steak is mixed with Pepper Jack cheese, onions and garlic to give it that perfect flavor. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
Preparation:
1. Freeze your steaks for 40 minutes to an hour.
2. Chop the Onion finely and sauté it in 2 Tbl. Olive Oil. Cook it until it is lightly browned. Remove the onions and set them aside.
3. While the onions are cooking, cut the Steak into very thin strips against the grain.
4. Heat your pan or electric skillet and add 2 Tbl. Olive Oil. I cook it on about 400°F. Add the Steak and the Garlic and stir it continuously. If there is any liquid that cooks out, continue to cook and stir the steak until the liquid is gone. Add the Onions back in and stir together. Add the Salt and the Pepper.
5. Add the Sliced Pepper Jack Cheese and stir it until the cheese is melted and mixed in well.
6. Toast 4 Sandwich Rolls with butter. Spread the meat on the toasted bun.
7. Serve and enjoy!
