Crumbl Copycat Chocolate Cookies and Cream Sandwiches
If you love cookies and cream anything, then you will love this recipe! This is the ultimate chocolate sandwich cookie with a soft, chocolatey cookie on the outside and a creamy cream cheese icing on the inside with chunks of Oreo throughout the icing. The flavors go together perfectly! I think the flavor of this cookie is exact to Crumbl’s and they are so easy to make! I used dark cocoa to get the right chocolate flavor in the cookie. If you don’t have it, you can always substitute for regular cocoa and it will still be delicious. It is so much cheaper to make your own cookies, and this recipe is perfect! I hope you love it as much as we do!
Ingredients:
Cookies
½ c. Salted Butter
¾ c. Brown Sugar
1 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
2 oz. Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
½ c. Dark Baking Cocoa
2 tsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Vanilla
½ c. Milk
2 c. Flour
1 c. Oreo Crumbs
Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes
Cookies and Cream Icing
½ c. Salted Butter
1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese
¼ c. Milk
2 tsp. Vanilla
3 c. Powdered Sugar
1 c. Broken Oreo Pieces
Preparation:
1. Cream the Butter, Sugar, and the Brown Sugar.
2. Add the Eggs and mix them in well.
3. Melt the Unsweetened Baking Chocolate. You can do it in a pan on the stove on a medium-low heat, or you can melt it in the microwave. I prefer melting it in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time on a medium power level.
4. Add the Melted Chocolate, Dark Cocoa, Baking Powder, Salt, and the Vanilla. Mix it well.
5. Add the Milk and the Flour and mix well. Refrigerate the dough for 3 hours.
6. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Crush the Oreos in a food processor or a Ziplock Bag.
7. Grease a baking sheet. Roll the dough into a 1 ½ inch ball. Then roll each ball of dough in the Oreo Crumbs. Place it on a baking sheet.
8. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes to cool. They will continue baking. Then move the cookies to a cooling rack to cool. Click here for the extra large baking sheets that I use and love!
9. Make the Icing. In a medium-sized mixing bowl mix the Butter, Cream Cheese, Vanilla, Milk, and the Powdered Sugar. Break the Oreos into bite-sized pieces and stir them into the icing.
10. Spread the icing over one cookie, and then place another cookie on top, making a cookie sandwich.
11. Serve and enjoy!
