Brown Sugar Cookies
This is a recipe that came from my grandma. This was actually the first cookie that I learned to make by myself when I was 9. I have 3 brothers and they went through cookies pretty fast, so my mom was happy when I learned to make cookies for them. This was my favorite cookie at the time. I have lots of favorites now, but this recipe carries a little nostalgia. The original recipe called for Crisco, but I have changed it to use butter instead. I think it tastes a little better, and it is healthier. These cookies are easy to make and they stay fresh for several days.
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Melt the Butter. Add the Brown Sugar to the Butter and cream it well.
3. Add the Eggs one at a time and cream them well.
4. Add the Baking Powder, Salt Vanilla, and Flour. Mix well.
5. Add the Chocolate Chips and mix well.
6. Drop by spoonful’s onto a greased baking sheet. Bake them for 12-15 minutes.
7. When they are light brown, remove them from the oven. Let them sit for several minutes before you remove them from the pan.
8. Serve and enjoy! They are best fresh!
