I have always loved my grandma’s Applesauce cookie recipe! This is one of those old-fashioned recipes that never die. I have been making them for years and my kids love them! They are moist, and almost like a cake cookie. They have that cinnamon flavor with the Chocolate Chips that I love. It is hard not to eat more than one! This recipe is quick and simple to make. You don’t have to refrigerate the dough. You can make it and bake it immediately. These cookies also stay fresh and soft for a week or more. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

1 c. Salted Butter

2 c. Sugar

2 Eggs

1 tsp. Salt

2 tsp. Baking Soda

2 tsp. Vanilla

3 tsp. Cinnamon

1 tsp. Nutmeg

2/3 tsp. Cloves

2 c. Applesauce

6-7 c. Flour

3 c. Chocolate Chips

Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a mixing bowl cream the Butter and the Sugar well.

3. Add the Eggs and mix well.

4. Add the Salt, Baking Soda, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and the Cloves. Mix well.

5. Add the Applesauce and the Flour. Mix well.

6. Add the Chocolate Chips and mix them until they are mixed in.

7. Grease a baking sheet. Spoon the cookie dough onto the baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown.

8. Remove from the oven and let sit on the pan for a couple of minutes. Remove from the pan to a cooling rack.

9. Serve and enjoy!
