Juicy and Tender Prime Rib
Prime Rib is my favorite cut of beef because it is so tender and delicious! I love to eat this at Christmas and for special occasions. I used to be afraid to cook this for fear of messing it up, but it is surprisingly easy to make this restaurant quality without spending hours doing it! It makes the house smell amazing and the meat is tender and juicy. The rub that goes on the outside of the meat gives it an amazing flavor! This recipe takes about 10 minutes of hands-on time, and then a couple hours in the oven, so it is perfect for that holiday dinner. I hope you love this recipe as much as we do!
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
2. Pat the Roast dry with paper towels and remove any liquid. Place the roast in a roasting pan, or a 9x13 glass baking dish.
3. Prepare your rub. In a small mixing bowl combine the Butter, Salt, Minced Garlic, Onion Powder, Thyme, and Pepper. Mix it well. Rub it all over the outside of the Roast.
4. Bake the Prime Rib uncovered for 20 minutes.
5. Reduce the oven temperature to 275° and continue to bake it for 1-1 ½ hours for a medium done roast. For a rare roast the thermometer should measure 120°F, for medium 140°F, and for medium-well, 150°F.
6. Remove the Prime Rib from the oven. Cover it with Aluminum Foil and let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
7. Serve and enjoy!
